Doctor Anastasios Fokas has been serving the College Point community since 1996. Dr. Fokas is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry. He is also the consulting optometrist at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx and Brooklyn. He is now the Director of Professional Services at College Point Optometric Associates. He is a graduate of SUNY College of Optometry and is the recipient of the PBH Award for Excellence in Contact Lenses. In addition to being member of The American Optometric Association, he is also a member of The New York State Optometric Association and The Optometric Society of The City of New York. He graduated from Bronx High School of Science in 1987.
Doctor Fokas has a special interest in the treatment and management of glaucoma and low vision. He is also actively involved in co-managing cataract surgeries. In addition, he is the consulting optometrist at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx and Brooklyn, New York where he is provides eyecare to terminally ill patients.
Doctor Fokas has vast experience in hard-to-fit contact lens patients, including keratoconus and high astigmatism and the prescribing of low vision devices for the visually impaired.
Doctor Fokas is fluent in Greek.
Stephen Rossi has been an integral part of College Point Optometric Associates and has been the Director of Ophthalmic Services since 1988. He attended New York City Technical College and is a New York State Licensed Ophthalmic Dispenser. In addition to being a Certified Optician by the American Board of Opticianry, he is also a member of the New York State Society of Opticians and a Fellow of The National Academy of Opticians.
With Stephen's Lifestyle Dispensing Philosophy in addition to over twenty years experience in ophthalmic lens design, fabrication and dispensing, Stephen will deliver superior eyewear to all patients. Stephen is an expert in all aspects of occupational, safety, tactical, sports and pediatric eyewear. Stephen lives in Lynbrook, New York with his family and three Dachshunds.
He enjoys photography, wine collecting as well as sport shooting.
Doctor Bhasin joined College Point Optometric Associates in 2007 and is the Director of Pediatric & Binocular Vision Services. Doctor Monica Bhasin received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from St. John's University in 2001. She received her Degree in Optometry from SUNY State College of Optometry in 2006 and was honored with the Dr. Frederick W. Brock Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical performance in Vision Therapy. Additionally, she has completed a residency program in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the State College of Optometry and is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry.
Doctor Bhasin enjoys working with children and has a special interest in pediatrics, visual skills, disorders (eye teaming, eye focusing, and eye tracking) and other common vision disorders like strabismus (crossed eyes) and amblyopia (lazy eye) as well as learning related vision problems. She is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association and College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Doctor Bhasin is fluent in Hindi. Additionally, Doctor Bhasin is a consultant staff member at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.
